ARTA software license key for versions 1.x.x is not selling anymore. Now ARTA software is a freeware.

Here it is explained how to:.

Install software on PC computer with Windows OS.

Download software

Here you can download installation program for ARTA software. Installation program contains programs ARTA.EXE, LIMP.EXE, STEPS.EXE,  and html-help files ARTA.CHM, LIMP.CHM, STEPS.CHM.  Optionally, you can download user manuals in Adobe *.pdf format.

No part of software or user manual pages may be copied, reproduced or anyway re-used separately without the written permission of the author. 

The ARTA software is not patented, and does not contain technology constrained by existing patents. However, ARTA contains technology developed by other authors, that is described in their publications. ARTA user manual contains list of papers and standards that were used in a development of the ARTA Software.

ARTA software uses ASIO drivers. ASIO is trademark and software of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH.

 

Installation of ARTA software

Installation of ARTA software is easy, just execute program ArtaSetup.exe  It will install programs ARTA.exe, STEPS.exe, LIMP.exe and Help files in folder "ProgramFiles(86)\ArtSoftware". You can make shortcuts to these programs.

 

Requirements to use ARTA software

Minimal requirements to use ARTA software are:

  • Operating systems: Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11  (Windows XP was supported up to version 1.9.5).
  • Processor class Pentium, clock frequency 1 MHz or higher.
  • Memory requirement is 2GB.for 32bit Windows and 4GB for 64bit Windows.
  • Full duplex soundcard with synchronous clock for AD and DA converters.
  • WDM Windows soundcard driver or ASIO driver (ASIO is trademark and software of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH).

ARTA software has been successfully used with following soundcards:

  • RME Fireface UFX, UC, UCX, BabyFace Pro, Fireface 800, RME Fireface 400, RME HDSP
  • M-Audio Audiophile 2496, USB Transit, Mobile USB Pre
  • Axys D-AudioCard (mixer does not work on Windows 8/10)
  • Echo Gina24, Echo Layla 24, Echo Indigo I/O (notebook)
  • EMU 0204USB, 0404USB (*), EMU USB Tracker Pre
  • Motu M2, M4
  • Roland Rubix22, Duo and Quad Capture USB audio interfaces
  • Marian Trace Alpha, Terratec EWX 24/96 (*)

* For these older cards the audio driver does not work in Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11

Notice for Windows 10 users:

  • On Windows 10 you should make clean install of ARTA. If you have updated from earlier version of Windows 7 / 8 please first uninstall and then install ARTA software again.
  • Some sound card drivers needs update (i.e. Steinberg UR22 needs version 1.92). Some souncards works with old drivers (i.e. M-Audio USB Transit, and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2).

Notice for Windows 7 users:

  • On Windows 7 / 8 and Vista it is recommended to use ASIO drivers.
  • For Windows 7 / 8 - 64bit OS it is recommended to use computer systems with chipsets for the i3/i5/i7 Intel processor family.

Notice for Linux and Mac OS X users

  • Arta can be used on computers with Linux and Mac OS X operating systems by using Windows emulator programs: Wine on Linux, and Crossover (version of Wine) on Mac.
  • First install Windows emulator program Wine and prrogram Winetricks,
  • After install finish, check the wine version by executing terminal command: wine --version
  • Then install ARTA software using regular ArtaSetupXXX.exe program, by executing terminal command:  wine "full path to ARTAsetup"
  • Before starting ARTA, execute program wineconf to open Wine Configuration Dialog, then a) set default sound input and output devices and b) set screen dpi to 120,  c) set version of Windows that wine emulates.
  • Latest versions of wine (> ver.0.6) do not correctly show ARTA icon toolbars. In that case use program Winetricks to install original windous common control.
